Dear visitor,
Please be informed that as from 1 February 2012 the Visa Section of the consular department of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands will be closed indefinitely.
As from 1 February 2012 all short stay (< 90 days) Schengen visas for the Netherlands will be handled by France (in Lagos) and Belgium (in Abuja) at the following addresses:
- In Lagos: the French VFS application center located at Block 94, Plot 23, Providence Street, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lekki Scheme 1, Lagos, Nigeria will handle visa-requests on behalf of the Consulate General of France in Lagos.
Supporting documents, visa fees as well as VFS fees remain the same as for applicants for France. Website: http://www.france-ng.com
- In Abuja: the Belgium VFS application center located at No. 38, Lobito Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja, Nigeria will handle visa requests on behalf of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Abuja.
Supporting documents, visa fees as well as VFS fees remain the same as for applicants for Belgium. Website: http://www.vfsglobal-be-ng.com
Applicants are advised to submit their visa applications well in time (max. 3 months before intended day of travel) to their nearest representation (VFS in Lagos or Abuja).
For all other consular services (application for Netherlands passport, long term stay visa applicaton (the so-called MVV-application), legalization, consular statements, Caribbean visa, etc.) you can continue to contact the consular department of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Applications can be submitted on Monday - Friday between 09.00 - 12.00 without appointment.
In case of emergency, consular services can also be provided to Dutch citizens by appointment in the afternoon.

Before booking an appointment, we advise you to read 'IMPORTANT INFORMATION' (on the left) first.
To make your visa appointment online, please follow the next procedure:
- Click the word Calendar on the bottom of this page.
- Click the prefered month.
- Click the prefered day and time.
- Fill out the registration form and click submit.
- Within minutes you will receive an e-mail with a link to confirm your appointment. Click this link within 6 hours, otherwise the appointment will be cancelled.
Please note:
- You can make only one appointment per person, and only for the same trip.
- You can make appointments maximum two weeks in advance.
- The validity of your passport must exceed three months after the end of your planned trip, otherwise you can't make an appointment (also not by phone).
- Your confirmation e-mail has a link to our website, where you can find all the specific requirements for your visa-type and the important details.
The Netherlands no longer recognises the old model ordinary Nigerian passports that are renewed manually, as of 19 April 2010.
